Betting With The Last Snap is a Better Investment Than Bitcoin and Today’s Bowl Picks.

Yesterday, I went 2-1 bringing me to a record of 11-6. If you had made picks with me, starting with Bowl games, I would have gained you 4 units, while an investment in Bitcoin would have lost you about 15 percent of your investment. Just a thought. As always, some picks may be made on twitter, so be sure to follow me @thelastsnap_. But here is the slate for today.

Southern Mississippi vs. Florida State

Bowl: Walk On’s Independence Bowl | Time: 12:30 PM CT

Boston College vs. Iowa

Bowl: New Era Pinstripe Bowl | Time: 4:15 PM CT

Line: BC +125

Boston College is a sneaky good team. This year, they beat UVA 41-10, Florida State 35-3 and Syracuse 42-14. Only losses this year were to #23 NC State, #16 Virginia Tech, #2 Clemson (who lost to Syracuse), Notre Dame and Wake Forest, all bowl eligible teams. Iowa had similar successes in the year, including a low scoring defeat at the hands off Penn State and beat Ohio State 55-24, but lost to Purdue, all games were at Kinnick. Both teams, rely heavily on the run, and have stellar backs to do the job. It will be a cold, windy game at Yankee Stadium, BC wins outright.

Arizona vs. Purdue

Bowl: Foster Farms Bowl | Time: 7:30 PM CT

Line: Over 65

Arizona led the Pac-12 in points (41.8 ppg, #6 in the country), in rushing yards (324 ypg, #3 in the country) which is all due to QB Kalid Tate, who missed the first 4 games of the season and led the Wildcats to a 5-2 record before missing the last game of the season due to a shoulder injury. Purdue ranks in the top 20 in scoring defense, allowing only 19.3 ppg and in the top 30 in rushing defense, allowing only 133 yards a game. However, the x-factor will be the QB play of Elijah Sindelar. On the season, Sindelar shared time with David Blough before Blough suffered a season ending injury against Illinois. Since then, he has thrown for 764 yards, 7 TD’s and only 1 interception, compared to 939 yards, 8 TDs and 5 interceptions when sharing duties. If Sindelar and Purdue’s rush defense can slow down Khalil Tate, Purdue has a chance. This should be a good game for for those just getting out of work today.

Texas vs. Missouri

Bowl: Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl| Time: 8 PM CT

Line: Mizzou -3

Mizzou is on a 6 game win streak, averaging 51 points a game, and beating teams by 30 points. This team is rolling. Texas on the other hand is dealing with transfers, suspensions and declarations for the draft. This game will be a cake walk for Mizzou, Texas will show up not wanting to play.
