BREAKING: Illinois QB Cam Thomas Has Left The Program

BREAKING: @IlliniFootball sophomore quarterback Cam Thomas has left the program. Thomas became the starter down the stretch last year, but was displaced by grad transfer AJ Bush. Thomas was the only scholarship quarterback on the #Illini roster during spring practice

Makes sense for Thomas. A.J. Bush is the clear starter with Matt Robinson as the back up for the season. With 4-Star QB Isaiah “Juice 2.0” Williams coming to the program next year, it makes sense for Thomas to leave and not waste another year of football. Thomas played last year, even starting a few games, but failed to retain that starter role after A.J. Bush transferred in from Virginia Tech.
