Georgia Tech vs. Louisville
Line: Georgia Tech -4.5, O/U 57
Georgia Tech runs the triple option so that means a lot of the clock is ran off the board. The yellow jackets did score 63 last week, but it was against Bowling Green, which ranks last against the run in FBS. This will be a slow game in Luh-ville. Take the under tonight. Yes the game is tonight. The most exciting Friday Night Lights ever (probably not though). Pick: Under 57
Illinois vs. Rutgers
Line: Illinois -6, O/U 50
Ok. I have one rule. Don’t bet on teams that you root for. But this is game, the Big 10’s Superbowl, is too big for my team. Illinois is FAVORED ON THE ROAD. If this was any other year, I would have thought that this was a trap game. BUT NO. Illinois is the better team and should blow out Rutgers on Saturday. Pick: Illinois -6
#5 LSU vs. #22 Florida
Line: LSU -3, O/U 43
Both these offenses don’t score much. LSU is led by Joe Burrow who is only completing 53% of his passes. LSU has won all off its games, but it is because of the defense. Florida is 4-1 but has not exploded on offense, especially against SEC teams. LSU however, is clearly the better team. LSU will win, but this will be a defensive battle. Pick: LSU -3
Georgia Southern vs. South Alabama
Line: Georgia Southern -12, O/U 55
South Alabama has allowed over 50 points a game 3 times this season and is only scoring 30 points a game. This isn’t a good look against Georgia Southern who is averaging 30 points a game while only allowing 19. South Alabama is one of the worst defenses in the nation while Georgia Southern’s attack is rolling and can control the clock. Last year, the Eagles beat the Jags 52-0. Georgia Southern rolls. Pick: Georgia Southern -12
California vs. Arizona
Cal has the chance to secure a bowl spot before the gauntlet at the end of the Pac 12 season. Cal has wins over North Carolina and BYU who has a win in Madison. Arizona is still trying to find its groove against Sumlin. Cal is a tough team. It can grind it out when it needs to. Arizona won 45-44 last year, but it lost Rod Smith to Illinois and all that magic is gone. It’s a Pac 12 after dark baby and the Bears win. Pick: Cal -2
