Nebraska got their chosen one in 2018. After leading UCF from defeated to undefeated, HC Scott Frost came to Lincoln, Nebraska, his alma mater, to turn around the Huskers. 2018 however, didn’t go as expected as the Huskers started the season 0-6. The only teams in the B1G west that the Huskers beat were Minnesota and Illinois, both of whom had worse records. But for some reason, Nebraska is pegged to win the B1G West.

2019 Offense
As a freshman, QB Adrian Martinez, shocked the world with his running and passing ability. With another year under Scott Frost’s fast paced playing style, Martinez has already captured the sports media attention and thrown into Heisman conversations with fellow sophomore QB, Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence. Martinez returns 7 of his top 10 receivers from last year and is protected by a veteran offensive line. The only concern is whether or not RB Devine Ozigbo can be replaced. Maurice Washington looked to be the man, but off the field issues has held back the sophomore running back. None the less, the team has fully adjusted to Frost’s offense, but all eyes are on Martinez to once again shock the nation and bring Nebraska to the B1G championship game.
2019 Defense
Juniors and Seniors are headliners in the Husker defense and will definitely be better in Year 2 of Scott Frost. The Husker front line, Carlos Davis, Darrion Daniels and Ben Stille are one of the premier lines in the country. Jo Jo Domann and Mohamed Barry are elite line backers with lots of experience. Corners Dicaprio Bootle and Lamar Jackson will break up almost any pass thrown in their direction. Any way you see it, Nebraska’s defense has the depth and the talent to be one of the best defenses in the country.
2019 Prediction
Nebraska has been picked to win at the B1G West this year by every pundit in the CFB world. Some have even gone as far as putting Nebraska in the the playoffs. In a vacuum that seems to exist. Nebraska has one of the best offensive coaches in the country, one of the best Quarterbacks in Nebraska history and a senior defense that is aching for a 10+ win season. But the B1G West is shaping up to be one of the best divisions in the country. Every team has improved substantially and Nebraska’s road to the B1G championship will not be as easy as it seems.
